News has been rife that Apple is abandoning the MacBook Air, but latest reports from Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities suggest that fans can expect an update to the line in the second quarter of 2018.
While the report does not delve into the details of the reports, it does suggest that the prices will be lower than normal for the new releases. However, it isn’t explicitly stated that the new lower-priced MacBooks will be MacBook Air, Pro, or the MacBook.
MacBook Air last saw a tiny update at WWDC 2017. Apple introduced a slightly powerful processor and upgraded RAM at 8GB default.
Currently, you can buy a MacBook Air for $999 at the lowest price-point that will bag you a 1.8GHz dual-core i5 processor, 128GB of PCIe-based flash storage, and 8GB of LPDDR3 Ram. If the reports are anything but rumors, then you can expect Apple to release an even more powerful Air at a reduced price.
